Dr Amelia Taylor
I’m Dr Amelia Taylor. I live near the North East coast with my partner and young children. I am passionate about play for adults and children which means my lifestyle is pretty active. I worked as a Nanny, a Primary School Teacher and an Assistant Educational Psychologist before going back to university to study my Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology. I have been fully qualified since 2013 and have worked in Local Authorities and a Virtual School which has given me a breadth of experience and a good understanding of working within statutory systems.
I began private practice in 2018 which led me to complete a lot of additional training and to specialise in work with children and their families post adoption and with children who have acquired brain injury. I am passionate about psychological interventions which strengthen relationships and develop empathy and compassion between people of all ages. The photo above was taken when I was providing training in Theraplay for professionals and I was lucky enough to have my preschool daughter with me at the time!
